Purulent salpingitis
The specimen shows an enlarged fallopian tube and Ovary. The tube wall is thickened up to 0.5 cm and sclerosed. A grey, cream-like content is visible within the lumen of the tube. This is an example of exudative, purulent inflammation of a diffuse nature. Consequences: The Development of sclerotic Changes in the tubal wall, wall perforation leading to Peritonitis, and Infertility.
