Bullous emphysema of the lung

A large bulla is present in the upper lobe of the lung. Cause: it develops As a result of excessive

air accumulation within the lung tissue, typically observed when a small bronchus is obstructed by mucus. Atrophy and rupture of the interalveolar septa are evident. Localized pressure atrophy caused by trapped air is also present.
