Rickets hypophosphatemia, or D-resistant rickets, is an X-linked dominant inherited disorder. All children with this condition are monitored and treated by an endocrinologist. Oral intake of phosphates and vitamin D reduces abnormal physiological requirements and Supports the growing body's propensity for the calcification of unossified cartilaginous matrices. The most common orthopedic deformity requiring Treatment is Genu Valgum (knock-knee). Osteotomy of the Tibia and the Femur helps correct this pathology.
