Non-Venereal Inflammatory Diseases of the Reproductive Organs

Non-venereal Diseases of the genitalia are generally defined as conditions whose development is not associated with sexual intercourse. This concept encompasses all known Skin diseases localized to the genitalia, as well as Disorders of the Urinary Tract and the internal and external reproductive Organs. In A number of cases, a clear-cut distinction between venereal and non-venereal genital diseases is not possible.

On the one hand, transmission of venereal diseases via non-sexual routes is quite possible; on the other hand, certain non-venereal conditions are known to be transmitted through sexual contact. Consequently, in some instances, a Diagnosis of a non-venereal disease does not necessarily mean that the condition is non-contagious.

It is generally accepted that non-venereal Inflammatory Diseases of the genitalia include Balanitis and Balanoposthitis, Behçet's Disease, Fournier's gangrene, acute ulcer of the vulva, Peyronie's Disease, Kraurosis Vulvae and kraurosis Penis, Queyrat's Erythroplasia, Papular Pseudosyphilis, Chancriform Pyoderma, and chronic cicatrizing ulcer of the vulva.
