Labia Majora

The labia majora pudendi are massive, rounded Skin folds, 7–8 cm long and 2–3 cm wide, which, located in the sagittal plane, laterally bound the rima pudendi (Fig. 183). Anteriorly and posteriorly, the labia majora are connected by small skin folds—the anterior and posterior labial commissures (commissura labiorum anterior and commissura labiorum posterior). The skin of the inner surface of the labia majora is smooth, moist, and resembles a mucous membrane. The skin of the outer surface of the labia majora is pigmented, rich in sweat and Sebaceous Glands, and covered with Hair. The subcutaneous tissue of the labia majora contains the greater vestibular glands and venous plexuses.
