This form of Leukoplakia is classified as a morphological precancerous condition. It is characterized by Two Types of changes. As with any leukoplakia, There is a thickening of the stratified squamous epithelium, along with acanthosis, hyperkeratosis, and parakeratosis; however, alongside hyperkeratosis and parakeratosis, hyperplasia of the basal Cell layer is observed, which is characteristic of Dysplasia. In this case, two processes occur simultaneously: leukoplakia and pronounced dysplasia. Anatomically, upon speculum examination of the cervix, leukoplakia with atypia appears indistinguishable from the typical true form. Determining whether leukoplakia is combined with basal cell hyperplasia and atypia is only possible through histological examination of biopsy material.
