Failure to follow safety guidelines for handling chemicals, violations of Sanitary and hygienic standards, personal carelessness, negligence, or imprudence during their transport or use can lead to adverse health effects or even fatal poisoning. In some cases, this affects individuals who come into direct contact with chemicals through their work; in others, it involves people who encounter a particular substance by accident.

The proportion of fatalities and illnesses resulting from chemical poisonings remains quite high. Frequently, the ROOT cause of poisoning is a lack of awareness regarding the hazards associated with specific chemical substances.
