ENURESIS

Nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting) is involuntary urination during Sleep in the absence of organic Changes in the urinary and nervous systems.

In children under two years of age, nocturnal enuresis is considered physiological in the absence of malformations and Diseases of the urogenital Organs, whereas at an older age, it is pathological. Enuresis is more commonly observed in boys. During the day, when the child is active, intra-abdominal pressure—which affects intravesical pressure—increases with every physical effort, allowing urine to be retained. In a state of rest (at night), urine is released involuntarily.
