THE GENUS BLEAK (VERKHOVODKA) - ALBURNUS RAFINESQUE

The genus includes over 20 species, with four species represented in Ukraine. Currently, the genus includes species previously assigned to two separate genera: bleak - Alburnus Rafinesque, 1920, and shemaya - Chalcalburnus Berg, 1932. According to modern data, most subspecies of these genera should be considered as distinct species.
