Family Cinclidotaceae

The family includes a single genus and about 10 species.

Cinclidotus fontinaloides features a slender, fasciculately branched stem, 3-10 cm long. Leaves are lanceolate, entire, with a costa. Sporophytes are located on lateral branches. The capsule is oblong-ovoid, brown, fully or, less commonly, partially immersed in the perichaetial leaves. Spores mature in summer. They grow on rocks and wood in mountain streams.
