Preface

In the training of biological specialists, The Study of plant Morphology is of utmost importance for identifying the properties and characteristics of both cultivated and wild plants. A thorough understanding of plant morphology is essential not only for mastering the academic curriculum, but also for conducting scientific research and pursuing a professional career in the biological sciences.

Knowledge of plant morphology, particularly morphogenesis in agricultural and ornamental crops, enables specialists to determine the morphological features and distinctions among varieties of cultivated plants and various species of wild flora. Plant morphology is a prerequisite for identifying and understanding weed species, agricultural crops, natural vegetation, and the ornamental flora of Ukraine, among other Applications.

The course in plant morphology presented in this manual has been developed in accordance with the current curriculum of the "Botany" course, tailored for students of pedagogical universities majoring in natural sciences and geography, as well as prospective biology teachers. The manual serves as a comprehensive guide for mastering theoretical concepts in plant morphology and comprises several thematic sections covering the core theoretical material of the course.

The material in this manual is arranged in a logical sequence to facilitate comprehension. The creation of this plant morphology textbook for students of natural sciences and geography faculties pursuing a Bachelor's degree (Field of Study: 6.040102 Biology*) was prompted by the lack of an independent, dedicated publication in Ukrainian. Previously, individual chapters on plant morphology were scattered only across general botany textbooks and comprehensive instructional manuals.
