Protein Solubility and Factors Determining It - Temperature Dependence of Protein Solubility
Temperature is a powerful factor influencing Proteins. As is well known, they retain their native conformation within a relatively narrow temperature range. Regarding solubility, it has been established that for most proteins, it increases in the range of 0–40–C. However, there are exceptions. A further increase in temperature generally leads to Denaturation. True, there are exceptions here as well. Protein Denaturation is usually accompanied by a sharp drop in its solubility near neutral pH values.
