Non-nitrogenous Organic Components of Blood

The group of non-nitrogenous organic Blood constituents includes CARBOHYDRATES, fats, Lipids, organic acids, and certain other substances. All of these compounds are either products of carbohydrate and fat Intermediary METABOLISM or serve as nutrients. Essential data characterizing the levels of various non-nitrogenous organic substances in the blood are presented in Table 17.1. In clinical practice, great importance is attached to the Quantitative determination of these blood components.
