In ecosystems, reptiles function as regulators of invertebrate and small vertebrate populations.

The role of reptiles in human life

The meat of large lizards, snakes, and turtles is used as food.

Some snakes and lizards control agricultural pests.

Crocodile Skin and turtle shells are highly valued and used to manufacture various goods.

Some snakes (rattlesnakes, Levantine vipers, saw-scaled vipers, and sea snakes) pose a danger to human health and life if accidentally stepped on. Two species of venomous snakes inhabit Ukraine: the common European adder and the steppe viper.

Snake venom is used in medicine to manufacture various Pharmaceuticals.
