Among mycotoxins, stachybotryotoxins—a complex of toxins produced by the fungus Stachybotrys alternans, dendrodochins—toxins synthesized by the fungus Dendrodochium toxicum, and sporofusariotoxins produced by the fungus Fusarium sporotrichiella—deserve special attention. Chemically, stachybotryotoxin is a steroid, while dendrodochins and sporofusariotoxins belong to trichothecenes. Aflatoxins are synthesized by Fungi of the Aspergillus flavus oryzae group. Aflatoxins are derivatives of dehydrofuran (coumarin).
