20.3.5. Identification and Indexing of Enzyme Preparations

To identify enzyme preparations manufactured by the microbiological industry, alphanumeric indexing is used: Px; P3x; P5x; P10x; P15x; P20x and Gx; G3x; G5x; G10x; G15x; G20x. The initial letters "G" or "P" indicate the cultivation method of the producer strain—surface (glybinny/poverkhnevyi) or submerged. The presence of the enzyme in the preparation is denoted by the letter "X". The numbers following the letters "P" or "G" indicate the degree of Enzyme Purification achieved during production: the higher the purification level, the greater the number.

"Px" or "Gx" refer to technical enzyme preparations containing 1–5% of the target enzyme relative to the mass of the synthesized protein, along with a high content of ballast substances such as producer biomass, nutrient medium components, and metabolic by-products.
