Miscarriage
A small-sized fetus showing signs of prematurity, born prematurely; a Placenta with areas of Hemorrhage is also visible. According to the WHO definition, an abortion, or miscarriage, refers to the termination of Pregnancy within the first 28 weeks. The termination of pregnancy and expulsion of the fetus from the Uterus prior to 14 weeks of embryonic development is termed an abortion, while that occurring between 14 and 28 weeks is termed a late abortion. Histological examination reveals dystrophic and necrotic Changes in the Tissues of both the fetus and the placenta.
