Ulcer perforation in polypous-ulcerative endocarditis

The specimen demonstrates involvement of the aortic valve cusps. The cusps are thickened, showing signs of destructive changes resulting from staphylococcal septic infection. Prominent vegetations and ulcerations are visible on the valve, characteristic of polypous-ulcerative endocarditis. Complication: development of septic (bacterial) emboli in the systemic Circulation. Microscopic examination reveals a predominance of destructive Changes in the valve wall, typical of septic endocarditis.
