White infarct of the Kidney
The cut section reveals a triangular, gray-colored area measuring 1 × 1.5 cm, which represents a white infarct. It occurs due to thrombosis or occlusion of a renal artery branch by an atherosclerotic plaque. Consequences: the necrotic area is replaced by Connective Tissue, resulting in a depressed scar at this site.
