Subendocardial myocardial infarction
A cross-section of the left ventricle is visible, showing a modified dark-brown discoloration of the inner wall. This represents an area of necrotic lesion resulting from the cessation of Blood supply. Consequences: 1) mural thrombi in The Heart cavity, thromboembolism in the systemic Circulation; 2) development of cardiosclerosis, Heart Failure. This is an example of vascular necrosis.
