HEMOSTASIS
The hemostatic system ensures that Blood remains in a fluid state, prevents bleeding, and maintains the structural integrity of blood vessel walls. When vessels are injured, this system rapidly stops bleeding. The fluid state of blood is maintained by a delicate balance between the procoagulant (coagulation) and anticoagulant systems.
