Valeology
Valeology (from Latin valeo — to be well; Greek logos — science) is the science of human health. The term was first introduced in 1980 by the scientist I.I. Brekhman. The Definition of the term "health" was given above. Valeology is a comprehensive body of preventive and wellness knowledge regarding the Structure and functioning of The Human Body, its natural defense mechanisms in interaction with the biosphere and cosmos, their development and improvement, and their effective application in both normal and extreme conditions. Valeology is grounded in the empirically validated concept that by recognizing the inextricable unity of Nature and Humanity and adopting a corresponding lifestyle, a person is capable of securing a long, active, and creative life.
