Preface
Biochemistry is a fundamental science that investigates the chemical COMPOSITION AND PROPERTIES of substances making up living systems, their interconversions during metabolic processes, and The Role of Metabolic Pathways in the normal and pathological functioning of various Organs and Tissues.
Teaching the course of biochemistry to future engineers—specialists in the design and maintenance of complex medical equipment—aims to foster a proper understanding of the natural laws governing living systems. However, there is currently a shortage of textbooks tailored specifically to this category of students. This study guide continues the series of educational Materials on the fundamentals of biochemistry for students of the Institute of Physics and Technology.
The Review Questions are designed to guide students in their independent Study of the literature. The second form of independent work involves completing a written assignment that includes problems to test comprehension. For each practical topic, a test-based knowledge assessment has been developed, which, at the instructor's discretion, can be administered either as an entry test or upon completion of the topic. A standard sample test is provided for each topic.
