Congenital Heart defect
The specimen shows The Heart of a newborn infant. Its septa feature openings connecting the heart chambers. This pathology most commonly occurs in the membranous part of the interventricular septum. This condition results in a left-to-right shunt without The Development of cyanosis and Hypoxia (acyanotic congenital heart defect). Complete absence of the interventricular septum leads to The formation of a three-chambered heart.
