Pancreatic adenoma

In the Pancreas, we observe well-circumscribed gray islets exhibiting expansive growth, which indicates that this histological specimen demonstrates a benign tumor, namely a pancreatic adenoma. Tumors of the pancreatic islet apparatus belong to the neoplasms of the APUD system, or apudomas. Islet Cell adenomas are known as insulinomas, which are hormonally active and associated with Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Malignant variants of insulinomas are termed malignant insulinomas, which may also retain hormonal activity.
