Dercum's disease
Subcutaneous adipose tissue characterized by an increased deposition of neutral fats. This is an example of localized or regional fat accumulation. Another name is adiposis dolorosa (painful lipomatosis), as these formations contain numerous nerve fibers. These nerve fibers are compressed by the fat, resulting in a pain syndrome.
