Ultraviolet Cell/15.html">Microscopy is a type of light microscopy. Its distinguishing feature is that it uses shorter ultraviolet rays with a wavelength of about 0.2 µm to illuminate the field of view. The resolving power of such a Microscope is approximately 0.1 µm. The invisible image obtained in ultraviolet light is converted into a visible one by recording it on a photographic plate or by using special devices (a luminescent screen, an image intensifier tube). Another feature of the microscope used for ultraviolet microscopy is that all its optics are made of quartz.
