Kraurosis of the Penis

Craurosis Penis involves pathological Changes in the penile region that are clinically and histologically similar to Kraurosis Vulvae. It typically occurs in elderly men, most commonly affecting the glans penis and the preputial sac. The condition is characterized by sclerosis and atrophy, occasionally accompanied by Leukoplakia, carrying a potential risk of malignant transformation.

Differential Diagnosis should include Queyrat's Erythroplasia, conventional leukoplakia, and balanitis xerotica obliterans. In cases involving a redundant foreskin, whether inflamed or not, it must be differentiated from phimosis and Various Forms of balanoposthitis (diabetic, erosive, etc.).

Treatment involves circular excision of the corona of the glans penis (circumcision). Other Methods have proven to be largely ineffective.
